Frequently asked questions
Will it cost money after early access?
We haven't finalized pricing for the full release. What we can promise: your notes are Markdown files on your own disk — whatever pricing looks like, your data stays yours and stays readable.
Where does my data live?
Entirely on your computer. There is no GhostBoard cloud — every note is a local .md file, and attachments live in your workspace folder.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS for now. Spatial interaction works far better on the desktop, and we'd rather make one platform excellent first.
Do I need an account?
No. Download it and start working — there's no sign-up flow.
Does the AI send my notes anywhere?
Only when you enable AI and explicitly invoke it — content goes to the provider you chose, with your own key. Pick a local Ollama model and nothing ever leaves your machine. With AI off, nothing is sent at all.
